Careers - Freelance WordPress Developer

Are you an energetic developer with a flair for making magic with your code? JumarMarketing, LLC, a full-service marketing company specializing in online marketing, brand awareness, web design and development, social media strategy and search engine marketing, is looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented WordPress developer to join our team on a contract basis.

This position requires a solid understanding of the web development process, from design to development and through deployment. You must have experience implementing websites, using CMS tools (WordPress, Joomla and Drupal) and building bespoke websites, including eCommerce.

Individuals must be able to work both remotely and on-site as projects and deadlines dictate.

Candidates should have:
  • Strong experience with WordPress platform, which must include plug-in/core development in addition to installation and theme customization
  • High proficiency in PHP and associated frameworks
  • Strong command of web standards, CSS-based design, cross-browser compatibility
  • Knowledgeable foundation in interactive design principles
  • Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
  • Great written communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to assess issues critically and provide recommendations for solutions
  • Strong motivation and flexibility needed to function in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team
Experience in the following technologies required:
  • WordPress, Joomla and other CMS
  • Javascript frameworks and libraries (jQuery, Prototype, MooTools)
  • CSS
  • Integration with APIs from Twitter, Facebook, Ning, etc.
  • XHTML, XML
  • Experience with Java, C# or Flash a plus
  • Relational Databases (MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • A minimum of 2 years hands-on development experience
  • Well versed in the online marketing and development industry
  • Strong sense of initiative and personal leadership
  • Strong business acumen, ethics and high integrity
  • Strong work ethic, can-do attitude, professional demeanor
